It’s time to Break It Down!
The only thing lynching is a metaphor for…is lynching!
Yesterday, Donald Trump tweeted this:
“So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here – a lynching. But we will WIN!”

Permit me to reiterate, This is not Ok. Neither is equivocating, deflecting, denying, diverting, what-abouting, gaslighting, and most certainly not defending this madness. Last week I emphasized the need to vote, and I committed to focus on voting until we move past Election Day. This tweet is a prime example of why I took that step.
With that, I have only one more thing to say. VOTE! “This Is Not OK: Neither Is Equivocatng About It!”
I’m done; holla back!

Although Black folks in the USA at one time were lynched during the early part of the 20th century I believe it was the Democrat party doing the lynching to keep Black folks oppressed, especially during the Jim Crow era which was started by the Democrat Party. A lot of politicians and news media have used the “lynching” word, Joe Biden has used this term, CNN has used this term when they mentioned the “high-tech lynching of Hillary Clinton during the Benghazi hearing. So it is hypocrisy at the highest level when Democrat politicians, the Congressional Black Caucus and the main stream news media try to call out President Donald Trump for using this same term as being racial when so many others have used this term to make a point. The Democrat Party is the party of lynching and oppression of Black folks since its inception and they still are, it is just hidden within their policies toward the Black community and I am discerning and wise enough to see the trickery of the Democrat Party.

Your statement about Democrats and lynching, while true on its face, is a bit of a canard. With the advent of the Southern strategy, Democrats and Republicans, especially in the South, played musical chairs effectively and switched positions. As a result, the positions those Democrats held traveled with them as they switched to the Republican Party, and in large part, vice versa.
You are right about the use of the word though. Many have used it, and it wasn’t/isn’t OK in any of those instances either. The one thing that separates Trump from the others mentioned is he’s president, the others are not. That such a thing should matter is not hypocrisy, its maintaining reasonable standards and high expectations from the individual who occupies the highest office in the land.
Finally, the high tech lynching motif was about Clinton, it was a reference Clarence Thomas, another Republican/conservative, made about what he believed was happening to him. He actually introduced the term to the American lexicon.
